Word of the Day Challenge: Pavonine

Pavonine – of or like a peacock

Disclaimer: Don’t own Harry Potter

It was a warm, summer’s day in Grimmauld Place when Harry awkwardly walked up to Remus while the latter was eating lunch.

Well, Harry had thought that he was sneaking up on him, but it would seem that such things were impossible.

“What is it, Harry?”

Harry nearly jumped out of his skin. Remus chuckled.

Once he was recovered, Harry pulled out the chair next to Remus and sat down.

“I just… I wanted to ask a question.”

“Oh?” Remus raised an eyebrow.

“About my dad.”

Remus frowned.

“What is it?”

Harry shifted uncomfortably. “A couple of years ago, Snape said that my dad liked to… strut.”

The frown disappeared. Remus burst out laughing.

“Harry, he was positively pavonine.”
